The scientific method has been mankind's most effective tool in combating disease, increasing the food supply, and generally providing longer lives filled with the optimism that we can solve our problems without prayers to a higher power. Efforts to discover the true nature of the universe and develop technology to explore our world and overcome hardship are only possible when we encourage reason and critical thinking in our homes, schools and communities.
